Dr. Flush and Professor Flow

Yesterday was an amazing day at Village Elementary.

With deepest gratitude to the York Water and Sewer District personnel and the many volunteers who provide meaningful exhibits, our students were able to participate in 7 stations on school grounds.

During the stations, students learned about the ecosystem of York's watershed, water conservation, water treatment, the work of our dedicated municipalities and what York would look like if we had a "day without water".

Over the last few years, this partnership has benefited our youngest learners immensely as we foster their understanding of our community and water conservation. It is our goal that each of them becomes a steward of this resource and the unique ways in which water exists from Mount Agamenticus all the way to the Atlantic Ocean in York.

Special thank yous to York Water District, York Sewer District, York Fire Department, the York Police Department, Maine Healthy Beaches, Dr. Flush and Professor Flow, the operators of the Vortex truck and the E.J. Prescott truck and everyone who helped bring this wonderful day together!
